In 2014, Ghost Dance, a large-scale sculpture, by artist Robert Stackhouse was gifted to the George Washington University as part of the Corcoran Study Collection, works selected from the original collection of the Corcoran Gallery of Art. The work will be renewed this September by Stackhouse and his partner, Carol Mickett, on site, at The Corcoran School of the Arts & Design. Alongside Ghost Dance, a juried exhibition of sculptural works, by members of the Washington Sculptors Group, that celebrate similar themes of renewal, rebirth, and sustainability, explored in the Stackhouse piece, will be displayed. Juried by Olivia Kohler-Maga, Luther W. Brady Art Gallery and Babette Pendleton, Corcoran School of the Arts & Design, the exhibition has been organized in conjunction with the Washington Sculptors Group and funded by the Friends of the Luther W. Brady Art Gallery and the Director’s Discretionary Fund.
