You are invited to ask anything you ever wanted to ask of a gallerist but were afraid to ask! The panel will discuss the business of operating a gallery, changes to the industry through COVID and the Internet and will be available to answer questions about the most useful ways to approach a gallerist and other questions.

ABOUT THE PANELISTS
Mary Early is the Director of HEMPHILL, a Washington, DC art gallery founded in 1993, with an expertise in exhibition planning, curatorial services, and art collection management. She works closely with artists, artist estates and collectors to develop long-range exhibition and collection management plans and to place individual works and collections with museum institutions and private collectors. Her sculpture and installation work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and she is represented in the collections of the US Department of State/Art in Embassies, the American University Museum (Corcoran Gallery of Art), and the District of Columbia Art Bank among other public and private collections. She serves on the boards of Hamiltonian Artists and Washington Sculptors Group.
Romy Silverstein is the Gallery Director of Addison/Ripley Fine Art, which has been serving the DC and National arts community since 1981. With a Master’s Degree in Museum Studies from George Washington University, she focuses on curatorial services for both public and private spaces; as well as exhibition design and collections management in and out of the gallery setting. She acts as liaison between artists, collectors and consultants, as well as fostering new and continuing relationships, as both artists and collections continue to evolve.
